Job summary

Synergy ECP, founded in 2007 and headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, is seeking a Software Engineer 1 to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems across analytics, data processing, and real-time domains. You will work individually or in teams, review components, test adherence to requirements, and contribute to system design with hardware/software trade-offs.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, debugging, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams following

Qualifications

• Four (4) years’ experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree
• Public Key Enabling (PKE), RESTful services and containers (Oracle WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat)
• One (1) year experience programming in the Linux, Unix or Windows operating system environment
• Two (2) years' experience writing/maintaining software in Java or GoLang language, One (1) year experience with the Spring Framework
• Two (2) years' experience using software development configuration management tools (GIT, CVS)
• One (1) year experience with test harness software such as Junit

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Debug existing software and correct defects
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
• Write or review software and system documentation
• Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project
• Develop and support the DTS portfolio and associated tools
• Develop and maintain software in the development environment
• Support multi-threaded applications
