Job summary

Black Eagle Defense is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Secure the Enterprise initiative at Fort Meade, MD. You will develop automation capabilities to modernize the security evaluation and authorization lifecycle, improving efficiency, visibility, and ongoing monitoring across the project lifecycle.

You will collaborate with engineering and security teams to design, implement, and enhance automated workflows, deploying scalable solutions and secure processes within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus seven (7) years of professional experience is acceptable. Eleven (11) years of relevant experience is acceptable if the candidate does not possess a degree.
• Strong background in analytics development.
• Experience with Pig.
• Experience with PySpark.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Java.
• Familiarity with Scala.
• Experience working with Apache NiFi.
• Experience with Ansible automation and configuration management.
• Experience working within Agile development environment.

Job Description SALARY RANGE $119,000 - $176,000/year. DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Software Engineer I role, you will support the Secure the Enterprise initiative by developing capabilities that transform the traditional system security evaluation and authorization process into a modern, automated approach. You will contribute to solutions that emphasize automation, streamlined processes and approvals, continuous monitoring and assessment, and network data gathering throughout the entire project lifecycle. Working closely with engineering and security teams, you will help design, implement, and enhance capabilities that improve operational efficiency, strengthen security visibility, and support the modernization of enterprise security practices.
