Job summary

Black Eagle Defense seeks a Software Engineer I to support the Secure the Enterprise initiative, helping transition from manual evaluation to automated, continuous monitoring and data collection across the project lifecycle.

You will develop Pig and PySpark analytics, review data ingest tickets, and collaborate on merge requests to ensure reliable data delivery to end users while supporting day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus seven years of professional experience; eleven years without a degree is acceptable.
• Strong background in analytics development.
• Proficiency in Pig and PySpark.
• Experience with patch management and IAVA tracking.
• Programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Familiarity with NiFi and Ansible.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements and derive software and performance requirements.
• Debug software and correct defects.
• Recommend improvements to documentation and development standards.
• Design, code, and modify software to add features or enhance functionality.
• Integrate software into new systems or environments.
• Develop data queries for databases or repositories.
