Job summary

CoStar Group is seeking a Software Engineer I for the CoStar Suite in Arlington, VA. The role involves building high-performance web apps used by thousands of users and contributing to a strong CI/CD culture.

As part of a collaborative team, you will leverage React, TypeScript, NodeJS, and cloud technologies like AWS to deliver innovative CRE data solutions. Onsite Monday-Thursday with optional work-from-home Fridays. High growth and impact provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of production development experience in modern technologies (React, Vue, TypeScript, NodeJS, C#, .Net).
• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS and CI/CD practices.

About the Role

As CoStar's next Software Engineer, you will have a direct impact on highly visible CoStar Suite web applications that touch millions of users. You continuously lea r n emerging technologies and architecture advancements and apply the learnings to improve CoStar's software products.

This position is located in Arlington, VA and is onsite Monday - Thursday, with the option to work from home on Friday.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high performance web applications used by thousands of users globally
• Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence
• Influence CI/CD pipeline improvements
• Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers across the organization.
• Mentor junior developers, review code and architecture, and promote software development best practices
• Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices
• Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the CRE Industry and CoStar's business model / technology

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit , in-person university or college.
• A track record of commitment to prior employers
• 2 + years of production development experience in modern technologies, like React, Vue, TypeScript, NodeJS, C#, .Net , OpenSearch, Kafka, SQL, NoSQL
• A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products and platforms
• Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Cloud Managed Services, etc.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum processes, and Continuous delivery practices
• Experienced in unit, performance, and automation testing
• Experience leveraging AI to improve productivity
• Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience managing a large Enterprise level code base, code quality and dependencies
• Experience with React and/or Nodejs in particular
• Experience implementing AI powered product features
• Excellent written and verbal communication skillsCommercial Real Estate (CRE) knowledge is a bonus

The final salary or hourly rate offered for this role will fall within the range set forth below based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, geographic l
