Job summary

Quartus Engineering in San Diego is seeking a Software Engineer I to join a cross-disciplinary team delivering software that integrates with hardware and control systems. You will design, develop, test, and document solutions aligned with customer requirements in a collaborative environment.

You’ll work with .NET, C#, or C/C++, and UI technologies (WPF/WinUI/Avalonia/Blazor). The position is hybrid in San Diego, with opportunities to influence architecture and contribute to real hardware

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• 0-2 years of software development experience.
• Experience with .NET, C#, or C/C++.
• Experience with user interface design (WPF, WinUI, Avalonia, Blazor, etc.).
• Understanding of design principles, methodologies, and patterns (OOP, MVVM, Producer/Consumer).
• Experience asynchronous programming (Async/Await, Tasks, Futures).
• Ability to present technical information to groups.
• US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident).

As a Software Engineer I you will develop software that meets the project and customer's requirements as part of a cross-disciplinary team together with mechanical, hardware, optical, and electrical engineers. You will gain exposure to new challenges that you have not seen before.

Location

Position is based in San Diego with a hybrid schedule.*

• The hybrid work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs including but not limited to training, performance, or other operational requirements. Any physical location change may impact future employment.

What are we looking for?

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• 0-2 years of software development experience
• Experience with .NET, C#, or C/C++ required
• Experienced with user interface design (WPF, WinUI, Avalonia, Blazor, etc.)
• Understanding of design principles, methodologies, and patterns (OOP, MVVM, Producer/Consumer, etc.)
• Experience working with asynchronous programming (Async/Await, Tasks, Futures, etc.)
• Demonstrate ability to compellingly present technical information to groups
• Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with communication protocols (UART, EtherCAT, UDP, TCP/IP, MODBUS, etc.)
• Experience designing and architecting software systems
• Experience testing software on real-world hardware

Compensation And Benefits

Software Engineer I pay range: $64,693 - $105,709*

• This range represents base pay. In addition, you may be eligible for additional benefits and compensation.
