Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services Inc. in New York seeks a Software Engineer I to contribute across the data work stream from design through production deployment.

The role involves implementing enhancements to ASP.NET sites and writing SQL queries while collaborating with frontend developers using jQuery and managing code with Git branches. The ideal candidate has a basic grounding in OO concepts, exposure to C# and the .NET Framework, and a college degree is desirable.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with object oriented development concepts.
• Prefer C# and .NET Framework exposure.
• Experience with MVC is a plus.
• Experience with WebAPI is a plus.
• Solid SQL knowledge and ability to write queries.
• College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle enhancements and bug fixes on existing ASP.NET web sites or assist on new projects of smaller scope.
• Employee will be responsible for handling tickets pertaining to issues documenting their work and what was fixed.
• Write beginner to intermediate SQL queries to consume in the application.
• Use jQuery and other client scripting tools to help enhance the front end of ASP.NET web sites.
• Manage code changes with version control using Git branches.
• Keeps current with market trends and demands.
• Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Overview

The Software Engineer I works with the data work stream through phases of an engagement, including conceptual design, detailed design, implementation, testing and production deployment. Responsibilities entail defining and assembling technical data deliverables and work products. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.

Responsibilities
