Job summary

Inductive Automation LLC is seeking a Software Engineer I to design and develop software applications across Ignition and internal tools. You will code, debug, test, and troubleshoot with guidance from the Senior Development team, collaborating with Support to enhance quality and functionality.

This is a full-time role with hybrid opportunities. The role emphasizes learning and delivering features, reviewing code, and staying current with emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field OR 1 year of industry experience in software development, or open source contributions.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin or TypeScript.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Basic understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
• Ability to read stack traces.

Job Description

The Software Engineer I is responsible for designing and developing software applications sold by Inductive Automation, LLC. This role involves working on various platforms, including but not limited to Ignition, as well as developing critical internal and customer-facing tools. They perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process. The Software Engineer I works under the guidance of the Senior Development team and in collaboration with the Support Division to improve the quality and functionality of the software by adding new features and repairing defects. This is a full-time role with hybrid opportunities available.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)

• Familiarity with network protocols and troubleshooting them is a plus
