We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex software capabilities for computer-based systems. The role involves close collaboration with other engineers to create solutions that meet client needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Security Clearance: Current Top Secret level U.S. Government security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship required.
• At least 5 years of Software Engineering experience with Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g., Spring, Guava) and a Bachelor’s in a related field; or 3 years relevant experience with a Master’s; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years relevant experience.
• Experience in designing enterprise APIs.
• Experience in RESTful web services.
• Experience in Microservices architecture.
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigms.
• Experience with agile software lifecycle.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Comfortable working on a Linux command line.
• Proven ability to learn quickly and work well independently as well as in a team setting.
• Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed.
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification required within 60 days of employment.
• Must be able to work on customer site in Hanover, MD 1‑2 days per week and at Enlighten’s Columbia, MD office 1 day per week; flexibility to adapt schedule changes as needed.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with NiFi, Kafka, AWS Infrastructure, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud based technologies (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with SQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL), distributed databases, and NoSQL databases.
• Scripting experience is a huge plus.
• Prior experience or familiarity with our Big Data Platform is a plus.
• Understanding of agile software development methodologies and use of standard development tool suites (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Youtrack, GitHub).

Anticipated Salary Range: $115,198.00 – $155,000.00.
