Job summary

WHOOP is seeking a Software Engineer II (Full Stack) to join the Growth team in Boston. You will help accelerate member acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention by shipping high-impact features across the frontend and backend in a fast-paced, experiment-driven environment.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and engineers to design, build, and ship end-to-end growth features. Expect strong emphasis on iterative improvement, data-driven decisions, and scalable web services.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience building production web applications.
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in web development using JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain frontend applications using modern web technologies.
• Build, maintain, and optimize APIs and infrastructure supporting acquisition funnels, e-commerce experiences, and growth experiments.
• Break down feature requirements into actionable tasks and deliver on sprint commitments.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot production issues, and improve reliability and maintainability.

Job description

• The Growth team is responsible for accelerating member acquisition, activation, engagement, and retention through rapid experimentation and thoughtful product development
• As a Software Engineer II (Full Stack), you will build and maintain the experiences and services that power WHOOP's growth initiatives, working across the frontend and backend to deliver high-impact features that directly influence member and business outcomes
• You'll collaborate closely with Product, Design, and fellow engineers in a fast-paced, experiment-driven environment where iteration, measurement, and continuous improvement are core to how we build
• Work within a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to design, build, and ship full stack features that improve member acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and retention
• Develop and maintain frontend applications using modern web technologies
• Build, maintain, and optimize APIs and infrastructure supporting our acquisition funnels, e-commerce experiences, and membership growth experiments
• Break down feature requirements into actionable tasks, prioritize work, and consistently deliver on sprint commitments
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve the reliability, quality, and maintainability of the platform
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate on best practices with your engineering peers
