Fitch Group is seeking a Software Engineer, Full Stack - AI, in New York. You will work on an enterprise portal using React, micro-frontends, micro-services, and event-driven architecture.

Build Java micro-services, produce/consume Kafka topics, and collaborate on the CI/CD pipeline with DevOps. The role demands 2+ years in software engineering, strong Python/AWS data services experience, and proficiency in SQL, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, and modern data formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and Python (PySpark, Pandas, FastAPI).
• Strong SQL with performance tuning across relational/analytical DBs.
• Experience with Kafka and Airflow.
• Experience with Snowflake and modern table formats (Iceberg/Delta Lake).
• Knowledge of data governance tools (Collibra/Alation) and data mesh concepts.
• Design/build REST or GraphQL APIs with data/ML features.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants to accelerate development.

• Work as part of an agile team in design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale web applications.

You May Be a Good Fit If

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• You have 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 2+ year hands-on experience with AWS data services (Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB) and Python frameworks including PySpark, Pandas, and FastAPI
• Strong SQL proficiency with demonstrated ability to optimize queries and tune performance across relational and analytical databases
• Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka) and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow)
• 2+ years working with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and modern table formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake, or similar)
• Practical experience with data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation) and exposure to data mesh architectures or data virtualization tools (e.g., Starburst)
• Demonstrated ability to design and build REST or GraphQL APIs with integrated data/ML features
• Proven ability to leverage AI-powered coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Amazon Q, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate development velocity and improve code quality
• Demonstrated experience using modern AI tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, and documentation to deliver production-ready solutions faster
• You have experience with relational database technologies such as SQLServer, PostgreSQL.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $90,000 and 110,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch
