Job summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineer - ETL/Informatica Developer to design, build, and maintain data integration pipelines spanning mainframe and relational sources. You will ensure data quality and performance while coordinating with Business Analysts, QA, and application teams.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant professional experience in ETL/BI data integration.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent).
  • Experience with mainframe data sources (VSAM, COBOL copybooks, DB2) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL workflows and mappings for enterprise data integration.
  • Build and support data pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter and PowerExchange.
  • Extract and process data from mainframe sources (VSAM, flat files, COBOL copybooks, DB2).
  • Implement complex data transformations and business rules.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning.

Preferred Skills
  • Hands-on experience in ETL development using Informatica PowerCenter and PowerExchange
  • Strong experience designing, building, and supporting enterprise-scale data pipelines
  • Proven ability to work with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, and NoSQL platforms like MongoDB
  • Solid understanding of data integration from mainframe sources, including VSAM, flat files, COBOL copybooks, and DB2
  • Advanced SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning
  • Experience implementing complex data transformations, business rules, and data quality checks
  • Knowledge of ETL job monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support processes
  • Strong background in technical documentation, including ETL mappings, workflows, and design specifications
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Business Analysts, QA, and application teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience ensuring data quality, accuracy, and completeness across enterprise data systems

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $45,000.00 – $121,900.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
