Job summary

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions, is seeking Software Engineers to add features to existing products and build new ones. This role requires being in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office and collaborating across engineering teams.

You will work on back-end wiring, application logic, and UI, drive development through design, coding, testing, and tuning, and provide estimates while evaluating new platforms and technologies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Excellent programming skills in Java or other object-oriented language.
• Strong communication skills.
• Passion for improving education through technology.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers, starting projects from scratch or building within the existing code base.
• Build the back-end wiring, application logic, and UI for products.
• Drive development process for the team including design, coding, documenting, testing, debugging, and tuning.
• Provide accurate estimates, evaluate feasibility, and assess new platforms and technologies for project implementations.
• Collaborate and communicate across multiple development teams to design and release products.
