Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer (Journeyman) to sustain and modernize the US Space Force Satellite Control Network (SCN) in Colorado Springs. You will contribute to software sustainment, release processes, and end-to-end testing, working with DoD stakeholders and Scrum teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong Java, C, or C++ skills, Linux/Unix experience, and the ability to obtain an active secret clearance. Travel and collaboration with product owners are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Active secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• US Citizenship required.
• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of related experience (or equivalent).
• Experience with Java, C, or C++ in DoD or mission-critical environments.
• Experience with Linux/Unix and scripting languages such as Python or Pearl/Python.

Responsibilities

• Perform software studies to find replacements for existing mission software.
• Develop new software release processes and test scripts.
• Review, modify, and debug programming systems to support applications.
• Coordinate with users to clarify objectives and with Scrum Masters for User Story alignment.
• Analyze system needs and coordinate infrastructure requirements driven by software.
• Prepare system specifications and documentation including flowcharts and diagrams.
• Support automated testing and unit tests; assist in test script development.
