Job summary

RTX Fort Wayne software team is seeking a capable software developer to join cross-functional Agile groups building and testing complex aerospace systems. You will contribute to integration, verification, and delivery of software for defense applications, leveraging C++, Java, and Ada in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree and at least two years of OO programming experience, with familiarity in CI/CD and developer tooling such as Git and Jenkins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar.
• Minimum 2+ years of professional programming experience in C++, Java, Ada or similar OO language.
• Experience with agile development and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Participate in cross-discipline, integrated product teams to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems.

What You Will Do

Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams, employ agile software development techniques and resources to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications Work collaboratively with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement and test system

Qualifications

You Must Have

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or similar degree
• Minimum of two (2) or more years of professional programming experience in software development, integration, and/or test using C++, Java, Ada or similar object‑oriented software language

• Desire and ability to learn new technologies and tools
• Proven self-motivated problem solver who can look at a situation, identify gaps or issues, and take initiative to resolve them (technically, with process, and with documentation)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time‑critical requirements
• Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems
• Experience developing software using Agile techniques such as Scrum, Scrum @ Scale, SAFe or Test-Driven Development
• Experience with integrated development tools such as Azure, Git, Atlassian Suite, Eclipse, and Ansible
• Experience working in a continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD) pipeline such as Gitlab, Jenkins, or GitHub
• Experience with Linux, VxWorks, INTEGRITY, or other RTOS
• Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance
• Knowledge of Red Hat and/or Linux Operating Systems
• Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.
