Our Engineering Systems team actively seeks Software Engineers to help us improve developer experiences for engineers at Snowflake. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technology and an amazing team as you build, test, deploy and operate the tools and services we create to help Snowflake engineers build the industry-leading AI Data Cloud. IN THE DEVELOPER EXPERIENCE ENGINEER ROLE YOU WILL:
  • Design and build tools, services, and infrastructure that help every Snowflake engineer be productive and enjoy their work. This includes IDEs, build systems, static and dynamic analysis tools, and anything that is part of a developer's "inner loop".

  • Be committed to help the people you work with be their best.

  • Put your (internal) customers first, carefully understanding their needs before you start to build solutions.

  • Analyze and decompose complex software systems and work with others to improve the overall design.

  • Design and implement secure engineering infrastructure architecture.

ON DAY ONE WE WILL EXPECT YOU TO HAVE:

2-4 years of industry experience in software development.

  • An interest in building better developer experiences for engineers at Snowflake.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and customer communication.

  • Motivation to help your colleagues and contribute to a healthy team environment.

  • Fluency in Go, Python, Java, C++, or NodeJS.

  • Comfortable with Linux operating systems and scripting.

  • Experience with at least one Cloud-based infrastructure system (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Attention to detail and ability to build reliable and scalable tools and systems.

  • Ability to debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Strong work ethic and a passion for problem-solving with a self-driven & motivated mindset

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Distributed Systems and Cloud Computing.

  • Operating systems - especially Linux.

  • Programming languages and compilers.

  • IDEs, Developer tools and engineering systems.

  • Kubernetes and containerization.

  • Databases and SQL.

  • Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure GCP, etc.)

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $157,000 - $230,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
