Job summary

Mastercard is seeking an experienced software engineer in Missouri to design, develop, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices for the Notification Manager platform. You will work on scalable, secure systems, participate in design discussions, and advance cloud-native deployment practices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices.
  • Create software components and service interactions for scalability and reliability.
  • Implement enhancements, new functionality, and defect resolutions across Notification Manager services.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and translate requirements into working software.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and secure code aligned with engineering standards.
  • Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and API tests.
  • Contribute to modern event-driven architectures using Kafka and distributed processing patterns.
  • Shape system architecture and technical designs supporting scale and resilience.
  • Support platform modernization: service decomposition, resiliency, performance, cloud-native deployment.
  • Reduce technical debt and improve operational efficiency across the platform.
  • Participate in production support, incident response, and root cause analysis.
  • Monitor system health with observability tools and metrics.
  • Analyze performance and implement improvements for throughput and latency.
  • Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and data-related issues.
  • Support release activities and production readiness.
  • Contribute to operability practices for reliability and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with engineers, QA, PMTs, TPMs, and partner teams to deliver roadmap commitments.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimation, and backlog refinement.
  • Join peer code reviews to uphold quality, security, and standards.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor junior engineers where appropriate.
