Job summary

USAMCO is hiring a software engineer for in‑person work in the Phoenix area. You will design, develop, and maintain complex web applications and data pipelines, with strong SQL across Postgres, IBM i, and MS SQL Server, plus Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, and Python.

You will build containerized solutions, leverage ELK Stack, and work with Databricks/Spark for ETL/ELT. Knowledge of HIPAA, OWASP, HITRUST is required; in‑person role offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• We are looking for a software engineer with strong experience in web application and systems development.
• Hands-on proficiency with SQL on Postgres, IBM i, and MS SQL Server; Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python.
• Experience writing clean, maintainable code to established engineering standards.
• Familiarity with containerized solutions using Docker.
• Ability to design, maintain, and optimize cross‑platform database structures and SQL scripts.
• Experience with ELK Stack components (Logstash, Elasticsearch).
• Familiarity with Creatio low-code/no-code platforms preferred.
• Experience building automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks Workflows and Spark.
• Knowledge of medallion architecture and real-time/batch data processing workflows.
• Strong automated testing, code review, defect resolution, and performance monitoring skills.
• Experience in regulated environments with HIPAA, OWASP Top 10, HITRUST; compliance documentation.
• Strong technical documentation, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• We design, develop, and maintain complex web applications and utility programs.
• We write maintainable, standards-aligned code and improve existing systems over time.
• We build scalable features and refactor legacy code for better performance.
• We create and optimize database structures, SQL scripts, and data workflows across platforms.
• We develop containerized solutions and support automation with Docker.
• We implement ELK Stack solutions, including Logstash pipelines and Elasticsearch mappings.
• We build and maintain features on our low-code/no-code platform.
• We design and support automated ETL/ELT pipelines and medallion data flows.
• We create data quality checks, validation logic, and error handling across data processing layers.
• We maintain and troubleshoot Apache Spark pipelines and related data workflows.
• We build automated tests, perform black/white box testing, and validate edge cases.
• We participate in disaster recovery testing, code reviews, and defect remediation.
• We follow HIPAA and OWASP security practices and support HITRUST efforts.
• We analyze ticket requirements, document technical decisions, and maintain project specifications.
• We build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to evaluate new technologies.
• We assess technical risk and debt, recommending improvements.
• We support applications, respond to production issues, and handle access and requests.
• We stay current on industry trends and contribute to engineering best practices.
