Job summary

Moody’s is seeking a data engineer to design, build, and support scalable data pipelines powering Moody’s digital content platform. You will work on data integration, AI-ready architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Moody’s engineering and product communities.

You will design pipelines using DataBricks, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, and Python within AWS, while mentoring teammates and contributing to data governance and scalability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Hands-on experience building data integration/ETL pipelines.
• Experience with Apache Airflow, dbt, and Python.
• Strong database skills with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake, and Databricks.
• Ability to collaborate with Agile teams and communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Awareness of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.
• Understanding data engineering for AI/ML workloads, including data quality, governance, lineage, and scalability.

Responsibilities

Skills and Competencies

• 1+ years of experience within a data engineering or software development team
• Hands-on experience designing and developing data integration/ETL pipelines from diverse data sources and formats
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, dbt, and Python
• Strong database skills with Postgres SQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake, and Databricks
• Experience collaborating with Agile teams, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders, with strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Awareness of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, generative AI coding assistants) to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency
• Understanding of data engineering considerations for AI and machine learning workloads, including data quality, governance, lineage, and scalability requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalet experience; Master’s degree is a plus
