Job summary

Kunai builds full-stack technology solutions for banks, credit and payment networks, infrastructure providers, and their customers. Kunai is hiring Data/Software Engineers to advance a critical banking initiative, focusing on backend and data engineering with Python and cloud-native technologies.

The team will build production software and data systems, leveraging Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, and Airflow in a modern cloud environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application development with strong Python programming skills.
• 4+ years hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• 4+ years working with PostgreSQL and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with data migration activities in cloud environments focusing on enterprise-scale data movement and transformation.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake to analyze large datasets.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing and batch/stream processing tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or AWS Kinesis.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or similar.
• Familiarity with enterprise ETL pipelines, Data Quality controls, and compliance Governance.
• Practical experience architecting real-time, event-driven data streams using Kafka/OneStream.
• Familiarity with large-scale cloud data warehousing, performance optimization, and modeling within Snowflake and OneLake

We are hiring Data/Software Engineers to join a team driving software and data engineering for a critical initiative for a premier banking client. This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on with cloud-native technologies and modern architecture.

We are looking for Back-end Engineers with a Data focus, as this team will be building production software and data systems beyond traditional ETL pipelines. Strong programming skills in Python are expected.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in application development with strong Python programming skills.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• 4+ years working with relational databases, including PostgreSQL, and writing complex SQL queries.
• Experience with data migration activities in cloud environments, focusing on enterprise-scale data movement and transformation.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake to analyze large datasets.
• Familiarity with distributed data processing and batch/stream processing tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or AWS Kinesis.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or similar.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior consulting experience or aptitude for client-facing collaborative environments.

Minimum Degree Required:

• Bachelor's Degree, in lieu of a degree, demonstrating in addition to the minimum years of experience required for the role, three years of specialized training and/or progressively responsible work experience in technology for each missing year of college isrequired
