Job summary

Insight Global in San Diego is seeking a Software Engineer with strong Python, AWS, and coding best practices to develop and maintain scalable software powering our products and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and ship new features.

The role requires 4+ years of software development experience, proven AWS delivery, and solid knowledge of design patterns, CI/CD, and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software development.
• Proven experience delivering solutions using AWS.
• Understanding of design patterns, coding standards, ELT/ETL, and code reviews.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS.
• Experience with web technologies such as Node.js, React, Vue.js, or similar.
• Expertise with data modeling, warehousing and ETL pipelines (Python/Airflow, Spark ETL, AWS) and deploying infrastructure as code (CDK).
• Expertise with SQL and familiarity with RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes, and knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch and ELK Stack.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in software development.
• Proven experience delivering solutions making use of AWS.
• Understanding of software development best practices, including design patterns, coding standards, ELT/ETL standards, and code reviews.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience with web development technologies such as Node.js, React, Vue.js, or similar.
• Expertise with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines (Python/Airflow, Spark ETL, AWS services) and deploying infrastructure as code (CDK)
• Expertise with SQL
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of database systems, both SQL and NoSQL.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or similar.
