New Relic, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer to drive the evolution of our Kubernetes-based infrastructure. You will own Day 1/Day 2 operations, build scalable automation, and partner with global teams to ensure high availability across our internal platform.

You will apply strong Go skills to system tooling, contribute to Helm, ArgoCD, and Flux-based workflows, and help optimize production reliability while supporting a hybrid work model and cutting-edge cloud-native technologies.

Formación

• Experience managing production environments in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure roles.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes primitives (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services) and building Operators.
• Proficiency in Go for systems programming and automation.
• Experience with production monitoring and incident response.
• Familiarity with cloud-native tooling and CI/CD workflows.

What you'll do

• Platform Orchestration: Oversee and enhance a massive Kubernetes infrastructure platform, ensuring peak availability, performance, and reliability.
• Automation & Engineering: Evolve internal tooling to eliminate manual overhead and streamline platform delivery across global teams.
• Lifecycle Management: Manage Day 1 and Day 2 operations for Kubernetes clusters using modern scaling frameworks.
• Operational Excellence: Partner with a supportive engineering team to manage production environments and lead high-severity incident responses calmly and efficiently.

This role requires

• Infrastructure Expertise: A background in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering managing production environments.
• Kubernetes Mastery: Deep working knowledge of K8s primitives (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services) and hands-on experience building custom Kubernetes Operators.
• Golang Proficiency: Strong skills in Go for systems programming and infrastructure automation.
• Production Focus: Proven experience managing production stability, monitoring, and resolving high-severity incidents.

Bonus points if you have

• Experience with cloud-native auto-scaling technologies such as Karpenter or Cluster API.
• Practical familiarity with Helm and GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux to manage continuous deployment workflows.

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Estimated Base Pay Range$126,000—$158,000 USD
