Job description

About Aurora Solar

Aurora is on a mission to create a future of solar for all. Our award-winning software puts the power of data and technology into the hands of every solar professional to make solar adoption simple and predictable. Our software has designed millions of solar projects so far, empowering solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays accurately, seamlessly, and at scale.

We've been named one of "The Best Remote Companies To Work for in 2025" by BuiltIn.com and have been recognized for the second time as a Certified Green Business (CGB) with the city of San Francisco. We're in this together to support the world’s transition to solar.

About the Team

At Aurora Consumer, we are shaping America's solar future. We connect consumers with top-tier solar installers through the nation's first real-time solar marketplace. Our team uses modern digital marketing strategies to spark consumer demand while removing friction from the solar buying process. If you love collaboration, creativity, and measurable impact, you will fit right in.

We prioritize clarity, transparency, and optionality so homeowners understand the process and financial details of going solar, and feel confident before they connect with installers in their area. We deliver rich analytics on user behavior and site performance, and we continuously improve the experience for customers. This work matters because it helps homeowners across America adopt sustainable energy.

About the Role

In this role, you will build the end-to-end experiences that help homeowners understand their options, evaluate financing, and connect with installers in their area. You will ship across the stack and across the problem space. That includes product features, experimentation and analytics, operational tooling, and the integrations that keep the funnel healthy and measurable.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who can move fast, communicate clearly, and make smart tradeoffs. You will help the team deliver MVPs that meet business goals, then iterate with real customer feedback and data.

Your Impact
  • Partner with engineers, product managers, and designers to build and improve our consumer-facing platform
  • Design, develop, and deploy high-quality front-end and back-end code that improves the solar buying experience
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation, testing, and deployment
  • Champion code quality through thoughtful reviews and strong testing practices to ensure reliability and scalability
  • Help raise the bar through continuous improvement, including proposing solutions, participating in retrospectives, and strengthening team processes
What You Bring
  • 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of shipping high-quality work
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Ruby, or Javascript
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks, with React strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively partner with product managers, designers, and other engineers
  • A passion for solving complex problems and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative, ask questions, and propose solutions
Nice to Haves
  • Passion for renewable energy, climate tech, or building tools that accelerate real-world impact
What We Offer
  • Flexible PTO - Take the time when you need it
  • Parental Leave - 16 weeks with 100% base salary + gradual return to work
  • WFH Stipend - An initial $500 (Non-engineers) or $750 (Engineering roles)
  • Coworking Stipend - $300 / month if you prefer to be at a coworking facility near you
  • Energize Fridays - Company-wide days to log off and recharge
  • Connectivity Stipend - Up to $100 / month towards internet or phone
  • Learning & Development - $720 / annually to use towards professional development (You have to complete 90 days of employment to receive this stipend)
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision - Premiums are 100% covered for Aurorans and 90% for dependents
  • Please take a look at our U.S. Benefits Booklet for a deeper dive into our offerings
