Job summary

Goldman Sachs in New York is seeking a dynamic developer to join the Commodities Technology team and lead a range of development projects. You will partner with traders, salespeople and engineers to automate quotes, trade booking workflows, and a data platform to turn data into actionable insights for trading decisions.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of programming experience, strong OO design, and the ability to work across global teams while learning new languages and technologies such as

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and programming skills in any language.
• 4+ years of experience with programming in any language.
• Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies.
• Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills including experience speaking to global engineering and business audience.
• Comfort with multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as a part of a global team.
• Ability to apply an entrepreneurial approach and passion to problem solving, product development and support.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with traders, salespeople, and engineers to determine development requirements and lead project execution to deliver solutions to complex business problems.
• Gain experience in a variety of technologies, including Java, Python, Slang / SecDB (GS proprietary language), web technologies (JavaScript, Angular etc.), and real-time cluster technologies like SPARK and NoSQL data stores like MongoDB.
