Job summary

Tive, Inc. is seeking an ambitious Software Engineer Co-op in Boston to contribute across a wide software stack.

You will help build a large-scale data processing and analytics system, supporting monitoring, analysis, and predictions for shipments in supply chain management. The role emphasizes learning, collaboration, and hands-on development, with requirements spanning C#, Python, SQL/NoSQL databases, cloud hosting (AWS), Docker/Kubernetes, and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• Proven interest in learning and collaborating within a team.
• Strong abstraction and design skills are required.
• Solid understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
• Proficiency with server-side languages such as C# and Python.
• Familiarity with SQL Server, Postgres, and MongoDB.
• Ability to work with remote coworkers across time zones.
• Experience with AWS hosting environments and DevOps.
• Experience with big data streaming platforms such as AWS Kinesis or Apache Kafka.
• Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Experience using Docker and/or Kubernetes to containerize applications.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum.
• Experience assisting Customer Success to troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with software engineers, product owners, and QA testers as part of an agile scrum team to design, develop, and implement new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior engineers; participate in stand-ups, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Assist with debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects in a timely manner.
• Contribute to unit and integration testing to ensure software quality.
• Learn and apply industry best practices in version control, code reviews, and CI; support documentation for features and designs.
