Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer Co-op in San Jose. You will design and build software powering Cisco products, working end-to-end on APIs, backend services, and user interfaces.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to ship impactful features across distributed systems. You will gain exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD tooling while continuing your undergraduate education.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (Associate's or Bachelor's)
• Qualifying education and work experience should be in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Expected to continue enrollment in an undergraduate degree program following completion of the Co-op assignment.
• Experience with API development (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and understanding data structures, object-oriented programming, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and Cisco Cloud.
