Job summary

Lumeris Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Software Engineer to join a collaborative team building SaaS products. You will participate in all lifecycle phases from requirements to testing, using modern languages and cloud-native architectures.

You will work with AI/LLMs and write serverless code, mentoring juniors and delivering practical internal UIs. The role requires cloud experience and strong teamwork in a hybrid Cambridge environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related field or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of enterprise development experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with TS, Node.js and Python in cloud-native SaaS.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the software development life-cycle with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop data layer using modern languages in a cloud-native environment.
  • Utilize AI accelerator tools and LLMs in production applications.
  • Demos of new capabilities to peers and leaders; mentor junior developers.

Position: Software Engineer - Cambridge, MA

Position Summary: Works with a collaborative team that develops and maintains systems and applications. Participates in all phases of the development life-cycle from initial requirements gathering and design to coding and testing of our suite of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) based products.

Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
  • Participates in all phases of the software development life-cycle from requirements gathering and design to coding and testing with cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative environment (Development Leads, Architects, Quality Engineers, DBAs, etc.)
  • Develops the data layer using modern software languages in a cloud-native environment
  • Utilizes AI accelerator tools (i.e. Github Copilot) in their day-to-day software development tasks
  • Leverages Large Language Models (LLMs) of various types in the implementation of applications
  • Demos newly developed capabilities to peers/leaders of the organization
  • Mentors junior developers
  • Develops basic but highly-functional user interfaces for internal use
  • Follows industry best practices for software development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/related field or equivalent
  • 6+ years development experience in an enterprise development environment or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • Experience working with Typescript, node.js and Python
  • Experience working with various data storage solution types (i.e. object storage, key-value, relational) and efficient write/access patterns for them
  • Demonstrable understanding of modern AI foundational models, prompt engineering strategies and common patterns for utilizing LLMs in production applications (i.e. RAG)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) deployment patterns, particularly platform agnostic tools like Terraform
  • Experience developing serverless applications in a cloud environment
  • Experience working with event-driven orchestration patterns and technologies
  • Experience working with healthcare data
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Ability to work with the Agile software development methodology
  • Fundamental knowledge of software development lifecycles and their utilisation in software projects
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work constructively in a collaborative team environment
  • Solid problem-solving, analytical, and design skills
Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in normal office working conditions. Onsite 3 days per week in Cambridge, MA #LI-REMOTE

Pay Transparency

Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay rate include your specific skills, experience, qualifications, location, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements. The hiring range for this position is: $105,780.00-$142,142.25
