Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer Level 1 to support the DAC effort. The role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics and real-time components.

You will work independently or with a team to design, code, test, debug, and improve software based on documented requirements. Requirements include TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph, 7 years of software engineering experience, strong Java, MapReduce, Hadoop/Hive/Pig,

Qualifications

Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
7 years of software engineering experience in programs of similar scope.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Strong Java experience.
Experience with MapReduce.
Cloud experience.
Experience with distributed NoSQL stores (HBase/Accumulo/BigTable).
Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (Hadoop, Hive, Pig) and HDFS.
Experience with JSON/BSON serialization.

Responsibilities

Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
Debug existing software and correct defects.
Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or environments.
Develop simple data queries for databases or data repositories.
Provide recommendations for documentation and development process.
Develop algorithms to meet system performance standards.
Assist with test procedures for software components.
Write or review software and system documentation.
Lead the team as appropriate to the project.
Modify software to correct errors or improve performance.
Design or implement complex database interfaces and queries.
