Job summary

Astranis is seeking a Software Engineer Intern on the Platform team for Summer 2027. You will design and build services that autonomously control satellites, monitor telemetry, and provide real-time situational awareness to keep our fleet safe and online.

Internships last twelve weeks and are hourly roles for students enrolled at a four-year university. You will contribute to both commercial and US government programs, shaping core components and services that power the software organization and

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent degree.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience and understanding of databases (Postgres, etc).
• Experience and understanding of pub/sub and streaming systems (RabbitMQ, Flink, etc).
• U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status Required (To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the United States, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3))

Software Engineer Backend Intern (Summer 2027)

As a Software Engineer Intern on the Platform team, you'll design and build services that autonomously control satellites, monitor telemetry for anomalies, and provide real-time situational awareness to keep our fleet safe and online. You'll also be building the core components and services that power the rest of our software organization, enabling every team to move faster and more reliably. You will be shaping the foundation of software that has to work flawlessly - because our satellites depend on it. This role will contribute to both our commercial and US government programs. Internships at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks, and are hourly roles designed for students who are currently enrolled at a four-year university.
