Job summary

Real Time Consulting (RTC) in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Software Engineer - Avionics Display Applications to join our next-generation avionics platform team. You will develop, integrate, and verify core Displays Apps and contribute to system-level design and test efforts in a safety-critical environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of avionics software development, DO-178B/C lifecycle experience, and strong C++ skills, with proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly.

JOB TITLE: Software Engineer - Avionics Display Applications

ABOUT THE JOB:

This team is responsible for development, systems integration, and verification of core Displays Apps to be hosted on the Next Generation Avionics Platform.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Software Engineering, or related technical area
• 5+ years Software Development experience for avionics
• Experience developing software applications for avionics displays
• Full lifecycle software development experience in accordance with DO-178B/C
• Experience designing software architectures
• Experience with object oriented software design
• Ability to code in C++
• Experience creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements
• Experience with safety critical real time operating systems (RTOS
• Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts
