Job summary

Aurora in Pittsburgh is seeking a Control Systems Software Engineer to design, implement, and verify motion control software for the Aurora Driver, a safety-critical system across vehicle platforms.

You will build production-quality C++ code, analyze performance in offline and on-road environments, and verify robustness to disturbances and failures in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience working on control systems for vehicle platforms in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or related fields.
  • Experience in control system design with a solid foundation in control theory
  • Experience analyzing/simulating nonlinear vehicle dynamics
  • Knowledge of state estimation and signal processing techniques

We’re searching for a Control Systems Software Engineer to join Aurora’s Autonomy Controls Software Team. The team is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and verifying the motion control system of the Aurora Driver with all vehicle platforms.

In this role, you will

Required Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications
  • Familiarity with design of fail-safe/fail-operational control systems
  • Experience in verifying design of safety-critical and/or autonomous systems
  • Masters or PhD in related field

For roles based in Mountain View, CA: The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $262,000 per year.

For roles based in Pittsburgh, PA: The salary range for this position is $146,000 - $234,000 per year.

Aurora's pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
