Job summary

About The Role

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services, is seeking a Software Engineer in Maryland Heights, MO, to support future franchise programs. This role involves software development for the next generation Mission Planning system for the Department of Defense. You will be an integral member of a software development scrum team, following the SAFe Agile software development methodology to produce weapon planning software for the next generation Mission Planning system. The system utilizes a microservices architecture and employs JavaScript and React for the front-end, with primarily C# for the back-end services.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical defense software, contributing to systems that enhance national security and operational effectiveness. The role requires a collaborative mindset, technical expertise, and a passion for developing innovative solutions that support complex defense missions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and program managers to deliver reliable, efficient, and secure software products.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or related disciplines. Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance is mandatory. Candidates should have at least 5 years of software development experience, with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React library, C#, and/or C++. Experience with the development and use of REST style APIs is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, along with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira, Jira Align, or Azure DevOps is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience with unit testing, integration testing, and system validation within complex software environments. Proficiency with version control and configuration management tools such as Git or Azure DevOps is necessary. The ability to clearly document software designs, interface specifications, and test plans is also important.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of weapon planning software throughout its entire lifecycle.
• Assist the Product Owner in reviewing, analyzing, and translating customer requirements into initial software designs.
• Develop, maintain, enhance, and optimize software products and functionalities for system integrations.
• Support the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and design specifications.
• Debug and resolve technical issues to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products.
• Troubleshoot technical problems and implement effective solutions.
• Contribute to the development, establishment, monitoring, and improvement of software development processes.
