Meta is seeking exceptionally talented principal engineers to join our teams in Des Moines, IA, and beyond, building cutting-edge Android and cross-platform features. You will oversee complex technical problems, shape long-term roadmaps, and guide collaboration across product, design, and platform teams to deliver scalable solutions for billions of users.

You will mentor leaders, drive execution, and push the boundaries of user experiences on mobile and web.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proven track record of planning multi-year roadmaps aligning short-term projects with the long-term mission.
• 12+ years of programming experience in a relevant language OR 8+ years with a PhD.
• Experience utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions.

2. 4+ years of experience building Android applications in Java using Android SDK
3. Shipped at least one large-scale product to production, supporting millions of active users

5. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
6. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
7. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$219,000/year to $301,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
