Job summary

The Solutions Group Llc is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Apache Airflow data pipelines in Annapolis, Maryland. The engineer will design workflows, automate tasks, and enhance system reliability while ensuring top-notch data management.

This position requires a Top Secret clearance, a degree in Computer Science, and relevant work experience. The compensation ranges from $155,000 to $205,000 with substantial benefits including ample PTO and medical plans.

Here’s What Your Day‑to‑Day Could Include

• Build and maintain Apache Airflow DAGs for data pipelines and automation
• Partner with data engineers and platform teams to design scalable workflow patterns
• Harden workflows for reliability, retries, and clear operational visibility
• Automate repetitive tasks with Bash and Python
• Support containerized execution and deployments across Linux environments
• Troubleshoot workflow failures, performance issues, and upstream dependencies
• Document pipelines and operating procedures so teams move faster

Minimum Qualifications

• Clearance: Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active. We do not have the ability to sponsor clearances
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen. We cannot sponsor visas
• This role aligns to Software Engineer (SWE), Level 2
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related, plus 3 years of SWE experience
• Or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related, plus 5 years of SWE experience
• Or 7 years of SWE experience in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity

Required Skills

• Linux CLI experience and strong comfort with Linux tools
• Bash scripting to automate manual processes
• Recent Python and Java development experience
• Distributed processing experience with Apache Spark
• Container experience with Docker, Podman, or containerd

Desired Skills

• Atlassian tools experience, Jira and Confluence
• AWS cloud services and infrastructure familiarity

Compensation Range: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00
