Job summary

Google LLC in Mountain View, CA is seeking a software engineer to help build next-generation mapping and AI-powered features. You will work on projects across information retrieval, large-scale systems, and computer vision, with opportunities to switch teams as the company grows.

The Geo team builds Maps, Earth, Street View, and Maps Platform, serving billions of users. In this role you will write product or system development code, participate in design reviews, and help ensure code quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in C++ and Python or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 1 year of experience with Computer Vision (e.g., image classification and processing, object detection, visual search), video generation, or signal processing.
• 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
• Design and deploy end-to-end perception systems for resource-constrained devices.
