Job summary

Google is seeking a PhD Software Engineer (ML/AI) to advance research-driven systems at scale. You will work across the ML stack, from hardware optimizations to production APIs, applying deep ML expertise to products across AI, Cloud, YouTube, Search, and Ads.

PhD graduates will collaborate with teams, lead innovative projects, and contribute to Google's extensive ML infrastructure with opportunities to impact billions of users.

Qualifications

• PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience coding in Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript, or Golang.
• Experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate or lead on projects to design, analyze, and develop advanced ML systems across the stack.
• Support building end-to-end ML systems from hardware acceleration to production APIs.
• Optimize complex system performance by addressing bottlenecks and memory issues in production.
• Promote engineering excellence through code reviews and best practices.

Collaborate or lead on team projects to carry out design, analysis, and development of advanced ML systems across the stack using your research expertise.
