About the Team

The New Products team is responsible for building the future of computing for a post-AGI world. This team spans the space between research and product, helping to figure out what new products are possible given our latest research breakthroughs but also what research we should invest in given our product aspirations.

About the Role

As a New Product Platform Engineer, you will focus on enabling us to prototype effectively and “see into the future” before it arrives. That means taking rough pieces from research and combining them into systems that allow us to get a feel (from a product perspective) of how the future might take shape.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

• Design and own the services that bridge our research with the prototypes we build together with our partners.
• Work cross-functionally to mitigate bottlenecks and improve the composability and robustness of dependent services.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

• Willingness to leave no stone unturned in pursuit of solving a problem.
• Experience building backend infrastructure that is easy to maintain.
• Experience building products that end users interface with.
• Experience making things go fast (Most things start in Python, but we expect we’ll increasingly move towards Rust for more robust performance).

Nice to have:

• Experience with deploying and serving LLMs.
• Experience with WebRTC and other forms of low-latency communication.
• Experience with Rust.
