Job summary

Cornerstone Defense seeks a Software Engineer 3 (Data Management) in Annapolis Junction, MD to design, develop, test, and sustain a Big Data processing platform. The role enables downstream systems to query, visualize, and analyze event data from multiple sources with an end-to-end approach.

Required qualifications include advanced degrees with extensive SWE experience or equivalent, plus expertise in Linux, Java, Spring, NoSQL, and CI/CD. A TS/SCI clearance is mandatory to apply.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or related discipline with 5 years SWE experience or 7 years with Bachelor's degree or 9 years of SWE experience.
• Experience in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph is a requirement to apply.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and sustain an end-to-end Big Data processing platform.
• Provide downstream systems with aggregated analytic results and support data querying and visualization.

Summary

The Software Engineer shall be responsible for the design, development, test, and sustainment of an end-to-end Big Data processing platform that provides downstream systems with aggregated analytic results and allows end-users the ability to query, visualize, and analyze event data from multiple data sources.

Qualifications

Master's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. OR Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus seven (7) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity OR Nine (9) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.

Required Skills

• Experience using the Linux CLI
• Experience with Bash/Python scripting
• Experience developing Java applications in a Linux environment
• Experience developing with the Spring framework including Spring Boot
• Experience with processing Big Data
• Demonstrated experience with system design and architecture
• Experience with Web development, HTTP, and REST services
• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Elasticsearch and Accumulo
• Experience with CI/CD principles, concepts, best practices and tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI
