Join Seerist, a leading provider of AI-driven, augmented analytics for threat and risk intelligence, designed to help commercial organizations and government anticipate, monitor, and manage global risks. Seerist delivers real-time insights, forecasts, and alerts that bring clarity to decisions and save valuable time for security and intelligence teams. Every day, Seerist helps our customers support their operations and missions globally, ensuring informed, rapid decisions.
You will join the Seerist software engineering team to build and evolve the core of our intelligence platform: the TypeScript applications, APIs, and search experiences that analysts and customers rely on every day, and the AI-driven features that are changing how they work. We are looking for a creative engineer who values simplicity. You look for the plain solution to a hard problem, you leave the codebase easier to understand than you found it, and you work within an established architecture instead of adding complexity for its own sake. You will own work end to end, from scoping and implementation through rollout and production support. You will also help us tell the AI advances that matter from the hype, because you build with them.
Simplicity & Creativity: Favors the simplest design that solves the problem; brings creative thinking to product and technical problems and can explain the tradeoffs behind a choice
TypeScript: Strong experience across frontend and backend systems
Frontend: Vue 3 / Nuxt experience, ideally with large production applications
Backend & APIs: Node.js backend/API development; experience designing and maintaining REST APIs and OpenAPI contracts; AdonisJS familiarity is a plus
Search & Geospatial: Experience with search-heavy applications, geospatial data, or Elasticsearch/OpenSearch is a plus
Engineering Discipline: Strong testing and code-review discipline; able to work within an established architecture rather than introducing unnecessary complexity
Ownership: Comfortable owning work end-to-end, including scoping, implementation, rollout, and production support
Building with LLMs: Hands-on experience building with LLMs, tool use, agents, structured outputs, retrieval, and multi-step workflows
Agent Systems: Familiar with agent orchestration, tool calling, memory/context strategies, evals, guardrails, and failure handling
AI Judgment: Keeps a strong pulse on emerging AI models, agentic patterns, and tooling; evaluates new model classes and frameworks on real tradeoffs in quality, latency, cost, reliability, and maintainability; regularly experiments and can separate useful advances from hype
Shipped Work: Portfolio or meaningful examples of shipped production work
Based in the greater Washington, DC metro area, in our Reston office three days per week, with the flexibility to work on site as the program requires
