Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a senior software engineer to design and build scalable AI-enabled software solutions. You will craft RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native systems while advancing AI-driven integrations and enterprise automation.

Responsibilities include designing RAG architectures, documentation processing, embeddings, and vector search, plus collaborating with product, engineering, and data teams to deliver value at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Three to five years of relevant experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar OO languages and enterprise app development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support scalable software solutions enabling CorePointAI capabilities across the enterprise.
• Build and maintain APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications using modern software engineering practices.
• Develop integrations for AI-powered, data-driven applications and enterprise automation initiatives.
• Design and implement Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, including document ingestion, embeddings, vector search, and prompt engineering.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and AI teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
• Drive adoption of DevOps, CI/CD automated testing, monitoring and operational excellence practices across the lifecycle.
• Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, performance, reliability, and responsible AI governance standards.

• Expertisewith Microsoft Azure ,includingdevelopment,deployment,andoperationalsupportofcloud-basedapplications.
• Experiencedesigningandsupporting RAG architectures ,includingdocumentprocessing,chunkingstrategies,embeddings,vectorsearch,andpromptoptimization.
• Knowledgeof Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI technologies, and enterprise AI solution patterns .
• Strongunderstandingof DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, Infrastructure as Code and automated testing frameworks .
• Experiencewith Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or comparable AI frameworks and services .
• Knowledge of vector databases, enterprise search platforms, AI security model governance, responsible AI practices, and enterprise software delivery .

Location expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $98,175.00 - $115,500.00
