Job summary

Cornerstone Defense LLC is seeking a Software Engineer 1 (Backend Development & Test) in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will develop, sustain, and troubleshoot the GhostGEM software suite, implementing, testing, and integrating with COTS/FOSS products.

The role requires strong Java/Spring experience, Linux scripting, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and a TS/SCI clearance. A competitive compensation range is offered with extensive benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph clearance required to apply.
• Experience with Linux, scripting (Bash/Python), Java and Spring Framework.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD (Bamboo, GitLab CI).
• Familiar with messaging frameworks (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and IaC (Ansible).
• Experience deploying containerized services with Helm Charts is a plus.

• Position Description: The Software Engineer shall be responsible for developing, sustaining, and troubleshooting GHOSTGEMs software suite of applications. Software development activities include implementation, testing, and integration with other COTS and FOSS products, packages, and libraries.
• Qualifications: Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university. OR Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity OR Four (4) years of experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Position Required Skills:
• Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
• Experience developing scripts using Bash/Python
• Recent software development experience using Java
• Recent software development experience using the Spring Framework including Spring Boot, Spring Data and Spring Integration
• Experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd
• Experience with container orchestration technologies including Kubernetes
• Familiar with Messaging Frameworks such as RabbitMQ and Kafka
• Familiar with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as Bamboo and GitLab CI
• Familiar with IaC principles, methodologies, and tools including Ansible
• Experience using Git Source Control System Position Desired Skills:
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Jira and Confluence
• Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment
