Description

We are hiring a Software Engineer at Level 1, 2, or 3 based on skills, experience, and demonstrated scope of impact. In this role, you will design, build, test, and support software solutions across the application development lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teammates to deliver reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective systems.

Position level will be determined based on individuals’ skill, knowledge, and experience.

Core Responsibilities

Level 1

Early-career engineer who creates and modifies basic programs with guidance. Supports coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, performance monitoring, and documentation, and assists with basic to moderate designs and prototypes.

Level 2

Mid-level engineer who creates and modifies moderately complex programs. Contributes to more complex code reviews and moderate to complex designs, mentors engineers, and may lead design execution or assist with requirements analysis, technical debt reduction, and application architecture.

Level 3

Senior engineer who develops complex software solutions, provides technical leadership, leads code reviews, contributes to architectural decisions, and mentors engineers. Collaborates across teams to reduce technical debt and uses cloud-native platforms, automation, and AI technologies to deliver secure, scalable, maintainable solutions, including technical guidance on responsible AI-enabled development.

  • Develop cost-effective solutions and enhancements for existing and new software applications, programs, and processes by analyzing information, investigating problem areas, and implementing solutions.
  • Support the product lifecycle by monitoring and reviewing system performance, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, participating in code reviews, and implementing software changes according to department standards.
  • Contribute to DevOps practices by supporting designs and prototypes; helping create and execute test plans and program specifications.
  • Use test environments and test cases to design, prototype, validate, and correct systems.
  • Document programs, processes, and procedures to communicate changes and maintain operational efficiency.
  • At Levels 2 and 3, contribute to improvements in coding standards, tools, and development processes; at Level 3, help evaluate and implement automation, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled development practices.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles, practices, and the full development lifecycle (design, coding, testing, debugging, and support).
  • Knowledge of software systems, design techniques, development tools, and data processing concepts, with general knowledge at Level 1, working knowledge at Level 2, and advanced knowledge at Level 3. Relevant technologies include C#/.NET/.NET Core, LINQ, SQL, and related tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated alignment with organizational core competencies (e.g., change agility, communication, customer focus, innovation, teamwork, critical thinking, and decision making).
Education

Levels 1 and 2: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, information systems, engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, training, and relevant work experience. Level 3: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field; a combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

  • Level 1: 0–2 years of academic, internship, project-based, or professional experience in software development or a related technical field. Practical experience through coursework, projects, portfolios, or labs may be considered. Foundational proficiency in at least one relevant programming language and familiarity with source control, debugging, testing, and relational data concepts.
  • Level 2: 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in software development or a related technical role, including developing, testing, deploying, and supporting production software. Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages and practical experience with source control, automated testing, relational data, APIs, and CI/CD practices.
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related progressive experience in development and systems analysis, experience with 1–3 coding languages (C# and SQL preferred), and project management experience.
