Job summary

Goliath Partners Inc. is building a next-generation financial services platform. You will design and build backend services, APIs, and data models that handle high-volume, high-stakes financial transactions.

You’ll own features end-to-end, from first idea through launch and iteration, across payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations. You’ll work with frontend and mobile engineers to ship polished, full-stack features while raising reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack production experience.
• Strong Python/Django API, data model, and service design skills.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and AWS.
• Track record owning large systems end-to-end.
• Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Our client is building a next-generation financial services platform that brings premium banking, rewards, and account services together in one ecosystem. They’re already operating at serious scale, with $150M+ ARR and $4B+ in annual transaction volume, and they’re fully profitable. You’ll join a small, senior team at a genuine inflection point and own the backend systems behind it all: payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations. Your work will directly shape the experience of a fast-growing, high-value customer base, and the architecture decisions you make now will define how the platform scales for years.

What you’ll do

• Design and build backend services, APIs, and data models that handle high-volume, high-stakes financial transactions
• Own features end-to-end, from first idea through launch and iteration, across payments, rewards, account services, and partner integrations
• Build systems where correctness is non-negotiable, keeping money and data accurate through concurrency, retries, and failures
• Help set the technical direction as the platform grows
• Work closely with frontend and mobile engineers to ship polished, full-stack features
• Raise the bar on reliability, performance, and observability

What you bring

• Around 5+ years building backend or full-stack systems in production
• Deep experience in at least one backend language (Python is a plus, since the stack uses Django)
• Strong skills designing APIs, data models, and services, ideally on PostgreSQL and AWS
• A track record of owning significant systems end-to-end
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have

• Experience in distributed, high-availability production environments
• Familiarity with Django and TypeScript/React
• A background in fintech, payments, banking, or rewards
• Startup or small-team experience
• A personal interest in credit cards, points, or travel
