The Career Opportunity
As a Software Engineer on the Payments and Shared Services team, you’ll help build our unified payments service that powers transactions across multiple product lines. Areas Of Accountability

- Work closely with front-end developers (React) to support seamless end-to-end user payment experiences, ensuring efficient integration between the UI and backend services.
- Participate in design and code reviews, offering ideas for improvements in microservice architecture, API design, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues within the payments platform, maintaining high availability and reliability of payment processing for all brands.
- Write unit tests and integration tests for payment components to uphold a high standard of code quality and prevent regressions.

- Experience or strong interest in integrating with payment systems or external APIs, and a good understanding of transactional workflows.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for building and deploying services.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API development; exposure to event-driven architecture concepts (using queues, pub/sub, etc.).
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and willingness to work within compliance frameworks like PCI DSS to protect sensitive data.
- Good problem-solving skills with attention to detail, especially for ensuring accuracy and reliability in financial transactions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills; able to work in an agile environment and collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers.
