Software Engineer – Full Sail University

Location: Campus, Winter Park, FL

We are seeking a Software Engineer responsible for development of application flow, business logic, and data access across assigned applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain source code for enterprise applications primarily written in Java.
• Collaborate in a team environment, creating and maintaining source code, and work with team leaders in troubleshooting issues.
• Support one or more applications across the enterprise.
• Perform all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including unit testing and the creation and maintenance of documentation.

Technical Abilities

• 3+ years of experience using Java, C#, or another object-oriented programming language.
• 3+ years of experience using SQL.
• 1+ year of experience using Linux OS.
• 1+ year of experience writing and deploying applications in the cloud.
• Experience with web and mobile application development (plus)
• Experience with issue tracking (plus)
• Advanced JavaScript, Apex, and Salesforce (plus)
• Workday, ColdFusion, PHP (plus)
• AI‑assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) (plus)

Design Abilities

• Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit).
• Familiarity with application frameworks (e.g., Spring).
• Familiarity with web services and microservices.
• Working understanding of client/server architecture.
• Working understanding of asynchronous, message‑oriented communication.
• Working understanding of process documentation.
• Working understanding of software lifecycle methodology.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience in software development.

Physical Demands

Work performed in an office environment, including active customer and employee communication, computer use, and periodic bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, or lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
