Job summary

CACI International is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Sterling, VA to design, develop, and maintain web applications and backend services powering mission-critical C-UxS solutions. You will drive architecture, performance, security, and reliability across the full development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead API and UI development, and deploy systems using containerization and DevOps tools, while aligning with customer requirements and BOEs.

Qualifications

  • 4 yeardegree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience with commercial cloud technologies (AWS GovCloud).
  • Web front-end and back-end development with Java, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Groovy/Grails, Angular.
  • Python and Java proficiency, software concepts including microservices and SaaS.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop full-stack web applications with strong architecture guidance.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and responsive user interfaces.
  • Collaborate with teams, program management, and customers on lifecycles and roadmaps.
  • Lead readiness activities, work with UX/UI to translate designs into production code.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team based in Sterling, VA. You will serve as a key member of our development team, building responsive, scalable, and high-performance applications that solve complex challenges in the field of counter unmanned systems (C-UxS) detection and mitigation.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for creating the vision and strategy for different products and solutions with an emphasis ininfrastructure, capabilities, and sustainability.

We support product development and solutions across a variety of mission-critical systems deployed around the world. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from conceptualization through deployment, creating software-focused products with a strong customer-driven mentality that addresses evolving mission demands.

Responsibilities:

You will work with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain modern web applications and backend services that power our mission-critical systems. Your work will drive product vision and technical direction while ensuring performance, reliability, and security.

  • Design and develop full-stack web applications while providing technical leadership on software architecture and improvements
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and responsive user interfaces
  • Build relationships across CACI ASG engineering teams, program management, and customers to execute software lifecycles and communicate technical designs and roadmaps
  • Lead business readiness activities and collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate designs into functional, production-ready code
  • Deploy and maintain mission-essential systems using DevOps tools, containerization technologies, and Git best practices while ensuring high uptime and performance
  • Debug full-stack issues, participate in code reviews, and implement solutions to improve application reliability and performance
  • Conduct usability research and market analysis to translate customer needs into technical requirements and basis of estimates (BOEs)
Qualifications:
  • 4 yeardegree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of software development experience
  • Experience developing applications for commercial cloud technologies (E.g.AWS C2E,GovCloud)
  • Familiarity and Experience withWeb Development Technologies – Java, JavaScript, HTML, HTML5, CSS, Groovy, Grails, Angular
  • Familiarity and Experience withBackend Development Technologies – General knowledge of Python and Java language
  • Familiarity and Experience with general Software concepts – Software as a Service, Microservices, Containerization, Cross-browser compatibility, Web User Interface Design, Security Principles, Object-Oriented Design, Web Services
  • Strong understanding of deploying software using common DevOps tools (Nexus, Artifactory, Jenkins, Harbor, Docker, etc…)
  • Experience ingestingrequirements and generatingbasis of estimates (BOEs) for work
  • Experienceleadingand/or integrating Agile methodologies
  • Experience supporting mission-essential systems with high uptime requirements
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience ingestingrequirements and generatingbasis of estimates (BOEs) for work
  • Familiarity with Groovy/Grails a plus (supports legacy platform components)
  • Experienceleadingand/or integrating Agile methodologies
  • Experience supporting mission-essential systems with high uptime requirements

There is a Top Secret clearance requirement to begin employment. In addition, as a requirement of continued employment in this position you will be required to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$79,400 - $162,700
