Job summary

Omni Federal is seeking a mission-focused Principal Software Engineer to join our Geospatial Center of Excellence in St. Louis. The role involves building modern software for NGA projects, leveraging microservices, containerized deployments, and GIS-aware data processing in production environments.

You will work with Python, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud-aligned stacks, delivering scalable, secure solutions while guiding teams as a Scrum lead and collaborating with DoD and IC stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience or 3+ with a Masters Degree.
• Hands-on experience with Python in production application development environments or building large-scale ETL/data pipelines (beyond basic scripting)
• Experience with containerized application development and deployment using Docker or Podman on Kubernetes/OpenShift environments
• Experience with Git-based source control and GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including automated testing and deployment
• Experience with web services architecture, design, and development, including microservice architectures
• Experience with database design including relational, spatial, and NoSQL databases
• Experience with Agile methodologies, serving as a Scrum or team lead
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

Required Skills:
