Job summary

MANTECH seeks an experienced and passionate Software Engineer in the San Antonio, TX area to join our team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining complex software systems, including analytics and real-time processing, in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates will have strong Python, React/TypeScript, Linux, and containerization skills, plus Kubernetes and Docker experience. Applicants with TS/SCI with Poly clearance are preferred and full-stack DevOps fluency is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or 14+ years of software development experience.
• Experience containerizing applications and deploying with Kubernetes/Docker.
• Proficiency in Linux and Python development.
• Front-end experience with React/TypeScript and RESTful web applications.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD and Helm/Rancher in a modern DevOps environment.
• Clearance TS/SCI with Poly is required.

Job description

MANTECH seeks an experienced and passionate, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team located in the San Antonio, TX area.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Develops, maintains, and enhances complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports.
• Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to thedevelopment environment.
• Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf
• (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual softwarecomponents.

Minimum Requirements

• 14+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or 4 years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience containerizing applications for creating, managing, and deployments
• Usage of Helm Charts/Rancher/Kubernetes/Docker/Flask
• Proficiency in Linux environments.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Front-end experience with React/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD
• Experience developing RESTful web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes NGINX Ingress Controller and Linkerd
• Experience in C/C++ (Rust Programming Language)
• Experience working with MongoDB.
• Some experience with UI development.
• Basic networking experience.
• Experience working with products such as Cisco Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator, Cisco APICs, vSphere, Vmware Horizon View, IPAM, and Keycloak.
• Experience with Ansible, running templates (bonus if you can write playbooks).
• Experience with system administration tasking (certs, PKI, troubleshooting)
• Prefer full-stack engineer who can handle both front-end and back-end development.

Clearance Requirement

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Poly

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as, the copy machine/fax machine/computer/printer.
