Job summary

IXL Learning, a leader in educational software, seeks Software Engineer to join a collaborative team in Raleigh, NC. You will build backend wiring, application logic, and UI for our learning products and contribute to new features from scratch and existing code.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in software engineering, a CS degree, strong Java or OO language skills, and clear communication. You’ll influence design, estimates, and tech decisions across multiple teams in a mission-driven company.

This position requires you to be in our Raleigh, NC, area office.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Work with a team of talented engineers, both starting projects from scratch and also working within the existing code base


• Build the back-end wiring, application logic, and UI for our products


• Drive the development process for your team, including design, coding, documenting, testing, debugging, and tuning


• Provide accurate estimates, evaluate feasibility, and assess new platforms and technologies for project implementations


• Collaborate and communicate clearly across multiple development teams to design and release amazing products

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
