• Write high‑quality, maintainable code and advocate for best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues, including root‑cause analysis and preventative improvements.
• Champion continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies and approaches with clear value.
• Grow into a mentor and coach engineers across teams, supporting technical growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer III who brings deep technical expertise, strong ownership, and a continuous learning mindset to the tools and products they build. You will be trusted to take on complex, ambiguous problems and drive them to successful outcomes, applying best practices in Agile software development along the way. We will lean on your technical leadership, pragmatic decision‑making, and ability to balance short‑term delivery with long‑term system health. You are comfortable forming and testing hypotheses, validating assumptions through experimentation, and using evidence to guide architectural and product decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with multiple programming languages (we use Rust, Kotlin and Typescript)
• Experience with architectural patterns and building scalable systems.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and make sound technical decisions in ambiguous situations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and mentor others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fluency with agentic frameworks and ai‑driven software development workflows.
• Experience working with containers and cloud‑native environments.
• Experience working with Large Data.
• Experience working with Distributed Systems.
• TDD and Spec Driven Development Experience with AdTech solutions applied to SSPs and DSPs

The salary for this role is based on an annualized range of $170,000 - $210,000 USD. This role will also be eligible to take part in Genius Sports Group's benefits plan.
