Job summary

Pure Interactive Entertainment, Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a first-year software engineer to join our in-office team. You will own features from design handoff to production, and work across the stack across three main areas: app/social layer, game engine, and payments/compliance.

Job description

The Role:

We're currently 10 full-time engineers on the team. Engineers here own full features from design handoff through production, work across the stack, and are expected to move fast. There's no defined specialization - you'll touch whatever needs to get done.

The product has three main technical areas:

• App & social layer - groups, feeds, in-game chat, onboarding, user profiles
• Game engine - building real-time games
• Payments & compliance - deposits, withdrawals, KYC, geo-fencing, AML, etc.

Location: New York, NY (in-office).

You will:

• Own full features from design handoff through production
• Work across the stack and move fast, touching whatever needs to get done
• Build across the product's three main technical areas: the app and social layer, the game engine, and payments and compliance

Qualifications:

• BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field - recent graduates (2023-2026) encouraged.
• Some hands-on development experience: internships, full-time roles, and/or personal projects.
• Attention to detail, particularly on frontend/UI implementation and overall user flows.
• Willingness to work in-office full-time in New York (must be able to relocate by October 2026).
• Strong work ethic and comfort operating in an environment with ambiguity.

TypeScript, Java, React Native, SQL, and AWS are relevant to what we build. Poker knowledge is not required.
